U.S. District Judge James D. Whittemore is expecterd to hear a joint motion Tuesday that wouldextend SimDag's time to respond for another 65 The motion comes on the tail end of a 45-dayu extension granted Sept. 12, and if would give both partie suntil Jan. 2 to hash out an agreement. SimDag CEO Franik Dagostino told the Tampa Bay Businessw Journal last week thatthe ­-- whicgh is suing for more than $1 milliobn owed in licensing fees for usinyg Trump's name on the $235 52-story condominium tower -- is prepare d to drop its suit if SimDagh is able to securs financing for the project throughj a yet-to-be-identified New York hedg fund.
Trump filed suit in May claimin g he was toreceive $2.84 million payable in 22 monthly installmentes of $121,091 each. The New York real estat mogul said payments stopped inOctobef 2006, and he demanded paymentg in a letter sent to SimDag in April beforse moving to terminate the agreement May 17. SimDavg brought Trump on board to use his name and buildd a structure that meets Trump Signature standardw inOctober 2004, however, a new agreemenyt was drawn up in Marc h 2006 that doubled Trump's licensing fee from $2 million to $4 according to court
