The transaction expands the relationship betweem thetwo companies, which currently operate an Internet joint venture to sell sheet music online. Through the new joint called Music Sales Hal Leonard, the world's largesrt sheet music publisher, will exclusively distribute publications producef by Music Sales Group, with Hal Leonard contributing some of the creativer input to the publications. As part of the long-term deal, Hal Leonard also gains exclusivde distribution rights to the entire catalogof , the U.S. operations of London-basedf Music Sales Group. The transaction also makes Hal Leonard the exclusived distributor of other publishers represented by MusixcSales Corp.
New York City-based Music Sales Corp. publishew songbooks and sheet music for popular music artistsw suchas AC/DC, Tori Amos, Bob Dylan, Pink Floyd, Paul Simo and Cat Stevens. Music Salex America will also distribute in North Americsa publications from the classical imprints within the MusicdSales Group, including Bosworthh & Co., Chester Music, Novello & J.Curwen & Sons, Edition Wilhelm Hansen, and Unión Musical "The formation of (Music Sales America) will alloqw us to expand the volume, availability and distributiohn of Music Sales product in North America," said Music Sales Group chairman and managinbg director Robert Wise.
