The move follows a leadership shakeup last monthg atEvergreen (NYSE Arca: EEE) in which the companyt said that CEO Kevin Collins and Chairman Robert Clarkj were stepping down from their managemeny roles and three board membersz were leaving. Rick Smith, a former executive of engineering giant Bechtel who joined the Evergreen boarrin November, is the new chairman of the board. At the Evergreen said it was "evolving its business model away from industrial production andtowarf revenue-producing licensing, joint ventures and partnerships for its carbob information management and cleaner coal technologies.
" Evergreen said the companyy intended to reporition itself "as a green technology company enterin g commercialization phases for its C-Lock Technology carbon informatioj management solution, branded with IBM as GreenCert, and its K-Fuel cleaner coal technology." The company has worked for year to commercialize its K-Fuel technology, which uses heat and pressure to cleah up raw coal so that it has fewer emissiones when burned in power plants. Through a C-Lock Technologies, it offerxs GreenCert, a counting system for carbon-dioxide emissions from patent- Stoner, 49, previously had been a consultant to the companh and for 10 years was CEO of EconerghInternational PLC.
"I intend to leverages our recently strengthenedmanagement team, to drivre a pure licensing model for K-Fuel and GreenCert, and to completr the sale of non-core assets," Stonere said in a statement Thursday. "Also, we anticipatd adding new members to the board in the near future whose expertise in clean tech business development and marketing will accelerat implementation of ournew strategy." Stoner studied economicws at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy and Harvarc University and has a bachelor of arts from Hampshirs College in Amherst, Mass. and a master of science degree from the London Schookof Economics.
Evergreen also announced Thursday that Richarf Perl would be joining its Perl is an executive with TerraCycle a company that develops collection locationsfor post-consumer packaging and worked with Stoner on the initiak public offering at Econergy Evergreen said it will scheduled an investo r update conference call in July. .
